Executive Chef Savas Aydemir Presents New Spring/Summer Menus at Seasons Restaurant at Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet

Talented chef renews lunch and dinner menus, blending the freshest products from different regions of Turkey with international inspirations.

2013-04-12 — /travelprnews.com/ — Within its charming and cozy courtyard, Seasons Restaurant at Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet offers dishes emphasizing the original rich and local flavours of Turkish cuisine and the Mediterranean. In his new summer menus, Executive Chef Savaş Aydemir focuses on healthy and light meals using seasonal and local vegetables. The lunch menu offers a variety of tasty snack alternatives, whereas the dinner menu is a combination of Turkish and Mediterranean delicacies.

One of the highlights of the starters in both menus is the Turkishmezze plate with a delicious selection. This plate is one of the must-taste choices while in Istanbul.

For guests who want to start light at lunch, a summery plate with watermelon, avocado and fennel is a rather fresh option. The Sultanahmet club sandwich, which is prepared with lamb meat, and the falafel sandwich with hummus are just two of the mouth-watering sandwiches served with Chef’s bright style.

The menu also includes savoury choices fresh from the oven such as for pizza, pide and lahmacun. Pizza, an Italian classic, goes perfectly with lamb, baby octopus from Izmir or wild grass from the Aegean coast of Turkey. To complete the lunch experience with a main course, lamb fillet with smoked eggplant or Hatay region’s well-known oven-cooked paper kebab can be tried.

The dinner menu is rich with appetizing selections. The feast starts with the service of a delicious bread-trio: walnut and raisins, olives, pesto. For soup lovers, cold watercress and nettle soup with cherry ice cream on top, or scorpion fish soup with raki and saffron essence are highly recommended. Appetizers are a mix of Turkish and Mediterranean dishes. In addition to homemade ricotta ravioli orhengel (country ravioli) filled with Aegean wild grass, guests can enjoy potato borek (savoury Turkish pastry) or chard leaf ‘pazı dolması, which is a traditional Turkish meal prepared with minced lamb.

Main courses include seafood, meat and organic roasted chicken. It is not easy to make up one’s mind whether to go for wild sea bass cooked in a copper pot, steamed john dory, boneless lamb shank cooked for eight hours, or beef skirt and short ribs. The lavish meal can be ended with yummy desserts of Seasons such as home made oven baked nectarine baklava. For those who want to go for fresh options, the new ice cream menu has tasteful offerings. Turkish baklava ice cream and wonderful kagit helva (filled pastry) temptations can make a great finale.

Hotel guests and visitors to the Old City can stop by Seasons Restaurant to cheer up their excursions with lunch or dinner or just for ice cream or lemonade. For reservations, call 00 90 212 402 3150.
