Cape Town International Airport awarded the Best Airport in Africa and the Best Airport in Africa for Staff Service Excellence

2013-04-12 — /travelprnews.com/ — Airports Company South Africa, Cape Town International Airport has once again been awarded the Best Airport in Africa and the Best Airport in Africa for Staff Service Excellence this time at the SKYTRAX World Airport Awards held last night.  The announcement comes weeks after having been awarded the Best Airport in Africa by Airports Council International. Sister airport, King Shaka International Airport received the Best Regional Airport at the SKYTRAX awards. The award ceremony was held at the passenger expo ceremony in Geneva, Switzerland last night.

The Skytrax awards were launched in 1999 and since then, Cape Town International Airport has won Best Airport in Africa in 2006, 2008, 2010, 2011 and now 2012. The airport has also scored a hat-trick in winning Best Airport for Staff Service Excellence in 2010, 2011 and now for 2012! So the award for staff service excellence has been scooped three years running!  “It is pleasing to see that three ACSA  International Airports rank within the top 30 airports in the world! In 2011 CTIA was rated the 27th best airport in the world and for 2012 it is ranked as the 22nd best airport in the world! King Shaka sits at 26th and O.R. Tambo at 28 – these are impressive accolades for our airports”, says Deidre Davids, Communications Manager, Airports Company South Africa: Cape Town International Airport.

“We hope that all Capetonians will celebrate with us as this victory belongs to us all! We think it’s quite a coup to receive the staff excellence award three years running! This is also all the more special because a few weeks earlier we celebrated the ACI award for Best Airport in Africa, also achieved three years running!  said Davids.

Delivering an excellent customer service experience is an ongoing focus for Cape Town International Airport and its airport community. The airport values the feedback received from its airport users as these assist in consistently improving for the benefit of the airport user. Feedback can be emailed to improvements.ctia@airports.co.za. This airport plays a crucial role in the region. Please rally behind your airport to make it one of the top ten best airports in the world,” concluded Davids.
