Burghartz arrives in the nation’s Capital with more than 20 years of hospitality experience.

2013-01-28 — /travelprnews.com/ — Dirk Burghartz is appointed General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC, the city’s only hotel to be granted both the Forbes Five-Star and the AAA Five Diamond awards.

Burghartz manages a staff of more than 450 employees who service the 222 room Hotel, which is home to the famed Power Breakfast and Sunday Brunch at Seasons as well as Michael Mina’s BOURBON STEAK. He is the fifth general manager in the Hotel’s 30-plus-year history.

“Without being biased, I think we’re incredibly well positioned in the city,” says Burghartz, who celebrates his 10th year with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts with a move to one of the company’s most celebrated addresses. “We have an enviable location very well set for pedestrian traffic with shops, restaurants and monuments nearby. And when you walk into the lobby, you can’t help but notice how much love, money and passion went into this Hotel. I am looking forward to continuing and deepening the proud traditions of excellence in service that provide all who stay at or visit Four Seasons Hotel Washington with a truly exemplary experience that exceeds their highest expectations.”

A native of Germany and fluent in German and English, Burghartz began his Four Seasons career in 2003 as Hotel Manager of The Pierre (formerly a Four Seasons hotel) in New York. Since 2003, his career with Four Seasons has included great successes as Hotel Manager of Four Seasons New York and most recently his role as General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Houston.

Burghartz is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University and began his hotel career in 1989 at Hotel Breidenbacher Hof in Düsseldorf. What followed were assignments in South Florida, Bermuda and the Big Apple where he gained considerable hotel management experience during his 20-plus-year career.

Burghartz, his wife Kelly and their two daughters Kirsten and Sarah now call the nation’s Capital home. In his spare time, he loves to run, cook, entertain guests at home and build wooden furniture for his daughters’ dolls.
