2013-04-30 — /travelprnews.com/ — The third Latin American annual conference to be hosted on May 7th in Sao Paulo will show the increasing role of Sabre’s GetThere solutions for managed travel across the region. Industry leaders and partners to present how the adoption of software and IT returns in a successful corporate program and as innovative tools for business travelers.

São Paulo, April 30th 2013 – GetThere (www.getthere.com), the world’s leading travel and collaboration management solution and brand of global technology company Sabre (www.sabre.com), presents a new edition of its annual summit gathering corporate decision makers, travel buyers and TMC partners. The event takes place at the Grand Hyatt Sao Paulo Hotel next Tuesday May 7, starting 8AM. Etihad Airlines, Cisco Systems and SAP are among the list of presenting partners.

The conference program includes keynotes to address the state of the industry and cases of technology adoption driving efficiency for renowned firms, including Brazil based companies, which have consolidated travel needs in compliance with their own policies across multiple offices in Latin America.

The audience will also join sessions focused on Virtual Meetings’ opportunities for multicultural collaboration connecting emerging markets in Latin America; while it contributes on redefining travel spend behavior from a new generation of business travelers. According to a preliminary outlook 18% of travel spend is for internal meetings which actually can leverage on telepresence technologies. Since its launch in August 2012 Sabre Virtual Meetings is the only solution providing enterprise-wide, secure access to book private and partner video conferencing rooms as well as a global network of over 4,000 public rooms.

GetThere’s Chief Product and Strategy Officer Paul Wiley anticipates: “Our summit is established as a main event bringing technologies and thought expertise to empower the professionalization and evolution of business travel in Brazil and Latin America. As we soon identify challenges for our corporate customers, there is a new technology that facilitates the right choice at a convenient fare without compromising the travel experience”.

The agenda will also cover strategic topics, from access to local content to travel policy, and demand management.

Rodolfo Silva, managing director for GetThere in Latin America, says: “Our core understanding of corporate travel coupled with our online and mobile booking software brings smarter and customized capabilities for business travelers. GetThere’s technology is continuously being chosen by major local and global corporations operating in Latin America, a fact that increased our footprint by 32% in 2012, with Brazil being a great driver with an 80% growth.”

With corporations already using the platform in 15 Latin American countries, GetThere’s technology helps to optimize spend, keep rising costs from spiraling out of control and meet the needs of business travelers who value consumer tools.
