CDA celebrates Chicago Restaurant Week by showcasing the flavorful and authentic cuisine at its Airports

CHICAGO, 2016-Jan-22 — /Travel PR News/ — The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) is joining the celebration of Chicago Restaurant Week (January 22-February 4) by showcasing the flavorful and authentic cuisine offered at O’Hare and Midway International Airports.

During “Airport Restaurant Week“, which begins this Friday, both airports will feature live cooking and mixology demonstrations, limited-time menu offerings at restaurants and special discounts on food and beverage items.

Chef demonstrations will feature many of O’Hare’s highly acclaimed restaurants including Tortas Frontera by Rick Bayless, Wolfgang Puck Express and Tocco. Specially-priced, three-course meals will be featured at O’Hare’s Wicker Park Seafood and Sushi, Tuscany Café and Chili’s Too. The chef demonstrations at O’Hare will kick off Monday, January 25 at 12 Noon with celebrity Bill Kurtis, owner of Tallgrass Meat Company, showing how America’s Dog makes famous Chicago-style hot dogs. The demonstrations take place in Terminal 2 past security near the Butch O’Hare fighter plane exhibit.

Travelers at Midway can check out live cooking demos from airport favorites such asHarry Caray’s Seventh Inning Stretch and Lalo’s Mexican Restaurant, and learn how to concoct the perfect virgin Bloody Mary at Reilly’s Daughter. The demonstrations will take place in the Midway Boulevard food court.

Throughout Airport Restaurant Week, almost every one of the over 150 food and beverage locations at O’Hare and Midway will offer discounts on select menu items.

The culmination of Airport Restaurant Week will take place on February 2 with the first-ever “Ticket to Taste O’Hare” in partnership with Westfield.This event will offer a unique opportunity for the general public to dine and shop past security at O’Hare International Terminal 5.
