2012-07-19 — /travelprnews.com/ — Cathay Pacific Airways has welcomed the opportunity to assist the Civil Aviation Department (CAD) Air Traffic Control Services in their investigation into the Loss of Separation incident which involved a Cathay Pacific flight operating in Hong Kong airspace during adverse weather conditions which also affected several other flights on 18 September 2011.
The airline’s assistance to the investigation was in providing its expertise with regard to the flight operations aspects of the incident and, in that capacity, was provided with an opportunity to review and comment on the investigation.
Cathay Pacific will fully support the recommendations from CAD as to safety actions that will help prevent such incidents from happening again in future.
It would not be appropriate for Cathay Pacific to comment further at this time on the investigation.
