Caribbean Airlines to implement new rate for passengers’ second checked bag from May 01, 2016

Port-of-Spain, 2016-Mar-25 — /Travel PR News/ — Caribbean Airlines announces that from May 01, 2016 there will be a new rate of USD 30.00 for passengers’ second checked bag. All passengers’ first checked piece of luggage will continue to fly free. The maximum weight allowed for each bag is 50 lbs.

The old baggage rate of USD 25.00 will be honoured on all tickets purchased up to March 31st, 2016.  All other baggage allowances and related fees remain the same.

Kindly note that the following customers are exempt from the baggage fee for their 2nd checked bag:

• Business Class passengers (allowance is 3 complimentary checked bags at 50 lbs each)
• Customers enrolled in Caribbean Miles & 7th Heaven Rewards Loyalty programmes who have earned silver, gold or executive gold status
• Passengers purchasing flexible economy fares

Customers who travel with carry-on baggage, are still entitled to one (1) free carry-on piece not exceeding 22lbs and one (1) personal item which could be in the form of a laptop, briefcase, purse or small bag.
