Cape Town Tourism delighted that Cape Town has been voted the best destination in the world for a city break in the Telegraph Travel Awards 2014

Cape Town, South Africa, 2014-12-9 — /Travel PR News/ — Cape Town Tourism is delighted by the news that Cape Town has been voted the best destination in the world for a city break in the Telegraph Travel Awards 2014.

Says Cape Town Tourism CEO, Enver Duminy: “This is the third consecutive year that Cape Town has taken the top spot, keeping us top-of-mind in one of Cape Town’s key source markets; the UK. This third party endorsement by a trusted media source makes for a very compelling reason for visitors to put Cape Town on their bucket list or return again and again.”

The Telegraph cited Cape Town’s “in your face beauty” as a key attraction, particularly for adrenalin junkies, and mentioned the city’s food, wine and craft beer offering.

Says Duminy; “Cape Town’s urban offering is particularly special in light of its proximity to nature. This award really celebrates our city offering; a major feature for today’s urban-minded traveller.”

The Telegraph issued a survey with nearly 90,000 people voting for their favourite travel companies and destinations, stating that it the most comprehensive and reliable reader travel survey in the world.
