Bristol Airport and SSP support Children in Need

2012-11-19 — /travelprnews.com/ — Bristol Airport and its catering business partner, SSP, found a tasty way of raising money for charity when pupils from local schools were invited to test their entrepreneurial spirit by selling cookies in the terminal.

Students from Blagdon and Castle Batch Primary Schools took part in a Young Apprentice style day in support of Children in Need. Working in teams, they were given Pudsey Bear cookies to decorate, before selling them from ‘pop-up shops’ in the terminal.

Lee Pears, Operations Manager, SSP Air (UK), at Bristol Airport, said:
“It was a great day for the school children who got the opportunity to see how a business works. We were all very impressed with their skills, and they sold out of their stock within minutes of being in the terminal!”

Tom Hack, Retail Manager, Bristol Airport said:
“Bristol Airport is delighted to support this joint initiative with SSP. It was an exciting day for the pupils and airport staff, joining in the fun and supporting Children in Need. The Young Apprentice idea was great fun while raising £300 for a great cause at the same time.”
