Bahrain Airport Company partners with Bahrain Business Machines to place a Containerized Data Center at Bahrain International Airport

Muharraq, Bahrain, 2016-Feb-29 — /Travel PR News/ — Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) has successfully signed an agreement with Bahrain Business Machines (BBM) to place a Containerized Data Center (CDC) at Bahrain International Airport.

The announcement came following a signing ceremony with Bahrain Businesses Machines during Bahrain International Airshow 2016 attended by Mr. Mohamed Yousif AlBinfalah, Chief Executive Officer of BAC and Mr. Abdulla Ishaq, Country General Manager of Bahrain Business Machines.

Welcoming the signing ceremony, Chief Executive Officer of BAC Mr. Mohamed Yousif AlBinfalah commented: “The scope of this project is for the design, supply and implementation of a next generation Containerized Datacenter (CDC), including all necessary site preparation, civil works, networking and systems’ migration, for the Bahrain International Airport (BIA) following industry best practices and standards to host the critical Airport Operations Systems and Corporate Systems”.

We are anticipating the completion of the project by the fourth quarter of 2016. The contract value is at BHD 649,589/-. “The containerized datacenter (CDC) technology was selected as the ideal solution for the Bahrain International Airport (BIA) due to the flexibility it provides for future growth and its all-in-one nature allows a high level of mobility. These benefits of the CDC will become apparent with the completion of the Airport Modernization Programme where Bahrain Airport Company will take full advantage of this flexibility in growth and mobility to convert the CDC to a secondary datacenter for the BIA. BAC will be one of the first companies to implement a Containerized Datacenter in Bahrain”. He added.
