BANGKOK, Thailand, 2019-Jul-23 — /Travel PR News/ — Avani Hotels & Resorts (www.avanihotels.com) is pleased to announce the appointment of new General Managers for three of its hotels – Avani Seychelles Barbarons Resort, Avani+ Luang Prabang in Laos and the upcoming Avani Ibn Battuta Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
Avani Ibn Battuta Dubai
Scheduled to open in December 2019, the 360 – key Avani Ibn Battuta Dubai Hotel is in the final stages of development next to the recently-opened Ibn Battuta Metro Link, which is directly connected to Ibn Battuta Mall. Avani Hotels & Resorts is delighted to announce Amer Ammar as General Manager to lead the new hotel’s upcoming launch.
Amer began his career in hospitality in his native Jordan in 1994. In 2001, he moved to Dubai where he worked in various operational leadership roles for Taj Palace and Coral International. In 2007, he joined Al Ghurair Group as Hospitality Manager and set up the entire hospitality division for the group. He became General Manager for the first time with the pre-opening team of Premier Inn Dubai Silicon Oasis in 2009. Between 2011 and 2015, Amer was General Manager at Premier Inn Abu Dhabi Capital Centre, and subsequently Cluster General Manager for Premier Inn Abu Dhabi hotels. His last assignment prior to joining Avani was General Manager at Premier Inn Dubai Investments Park.
Avani Barbarons Seychelles Resort
Opened in 2016, Avani Barbarons Seychelles Resort blends all the right ingredients for relaxation with a dash of colourful culture and exotic island life. Avani Hotels & Resorts is pleased to appoint Nico Vivier as General Manager.
Nico is a well-rounded hotelier with over 15 years of experience, having worked in the UAE, Russia, Seychelles, Tanzania and South Africa for international brands such as Hyatt, Kempinski and Intercontinental. Nico began his career in hospitality as a Restaurant Manager in his native South Africa in 2004. Between 2006 and 2011, he was F&B Manager for North Island, Seychelles and Kempinski Bilila Lodge in Tanzania. In 2011, he moved to Russia to become F&B Director for Kempinski Grand Hotel Gelenzhik and Hyatt Regency Ekaterinburg. In 2016, he joined Anantara, Avani’s sister brand, as EAM – F&B for the three Anantara properties on Sir Bani Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, and was promoted to Hotel Manager in 2018.
Avani+ Luang Prabang
Launched in March 2018, Avani+ Luang Prabang was the company’s first brand extension in the charming UNESCO heritage town in Laos. Avani Hotels & Resorts is pleased to announce Suri Jitjang as General Manager.
Suri spent over three decades in hospitality management with multiple international hotel brands in Thailand and Vietnam, including Le Méridien, Hilton, InterContinental and Four Seasons. In 1991, he moved to Northeast Thailand to join the Nongkhai Grand Hotel and spent six years in various management roles including General Manager. In 2002, Suri relocated to Bangkok to join Pan Pacific Bangkok as Resident Manager. A few years later he worked for the Four Seasons Bangkok as Executive Assistant Manager. In 2008, Suri joined Sukhothai Bangkok as Hotel Manager and then spent four years working at the Intercontinental Bangkok as Executive Assistant Manager, followed by three years at the Intercontinental Saigon as Hotel Manager. Before joining Avani, Suri was General Manager at the Holiday Inn Resort Krabi Ao Nang Beach and Holiday Inn Express Krabi Ao Nang Beach. Suri graduated with an MBA in Marketing from Ramkamhaeng University – Bangkok. Do the others have any education that could be included – looks a bit odd to only include for Suri.
Avani currently operates 27 hotels and resorts in 19 countries. The brand recently debuted in Cambodia, South Korea, and Bali, Indonesia. Avani currently has 15 new hotels in the pipeline, including a recent signing in Malaysia, the UAE, and Myanmar.
