airberlin opens Exclusive Waiting Area for business passengers at Albrecht Dürer Airport Nuremberg

BERLIN, Germany, 2015-3-23 — /Travel PR News/ — “Take off relaxed”. True to the new Albrecht Dürer Airport Nuremberg claim, business passengers can now enjoy a place where their imagination can soar or they can prepare for upcoming appointments before departure: airberlin today opened its latest Exclusive Waiting Area.

“With more than 1.1 million passengers in 2014, airberlin is the biggest carrier at the Albrecht Dürer Airport Nuremberg. This summer, airberlin will fly to 25 destinations from Nuremberg. That is a very strong touristic service, and we are really pleased with it”, said Jan C. Bruns, Executive Vice President of Nuremberg Airport and Head of Business Unit Aviation, at today’s opening.

“Many of our passengers are business flyers, who will now enjoy exclusive comfort. Passengers can pass the time up until boarding effectively, or simply relaxing in the Exclusive Waiting Area at gates A13/A14”, continued Götz Ahmelmann, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at airberlin.

Business Class passengers from airberlin, topbonus members with Silver status and above, and passengers with a Flyflex fare can use the 100-square-metre Exclusive Waiting Area, where 48 seats are available. The service includes comfortable leather sofas, complimentary hot and cold refreshments, free newspapers and magazines, and power outlets for charging notebooks and other devices. The new service is a welcome addition to the Exclusive Parking Area on level 2 of Parking Block P1, where topbonus members with Silver, Gold and Platinum status can leave their vehicles.

“Our comfort campaign doesn’t stop there: after today’s opening in Nuremberg and existing Exclusive Waiting Areas in Berlin, Dusseldorf, Cologne/Bonn, Munich, Hamburg and Vienna, we will be opening another Exclusive Waiting Area in Stuttgart later this year”, airberlin’s CCO announced.

During his opening speech, Ahmelmann also announced new flight connections to and from Nuremberg. “Nuremberg is an important location for airberlin. In summer 2015, we will have 140 departures a week in Nuremberg. An example of the new services is the Saturday non-stop flight from Nuremberg to Sylt, which will operate from May 2015”, said Ahmelmann.

The airport’s Executive Vice President Jan C. Bruns added: “The urban region of Nuremberg is an important catchment area for Sylt. We are certain of good resonance. The new flight connections are a great asset for our airports.”
