Arkansas Tourism will help Arkansans celebrate African- American Music Appreciation Month by providing information about African-American artists with deep Arkansas roots from the past, present, and future. African-American Music Appreciation Month paves the way for a deeper understanding of and appreciation for the rich legacy of African-American music and history.
Virtually every genre of music has, in some way, been touched and influenced by African-Americans. Consequently, it’s fitting for African-American Music Appreciation Month to recognize and celebrate the historical influence African-Americans have had on the music industry and other artists.
