Aerolíneas Argentinas launched a new flight simulator for the training of its pilots

After 20 years the Airline recovers the ability to train its pilots in their Country

2012-10-26 — /travelprnews.com/ — Aerolineas Argentinas launched a second FFS (Full Flight Simulator) at its training centre in the industrial sector of Ezeiza.

It is an FFS level “D” certified by the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC), for training and teaching of Pilots in a Boeing 737 NG, this one adds to the one which has been in service since May of this year from Embraer E-190 for Australs fleet.

Now the pilots from Aerolineas and Austral may receive their training, instruction and certifications in their country every 6 months, which until now they were having to go overseas to train. Also, taking advantage of the surplus of hours/Simulator (running 24 hours) to train Pilots from other domestic and foreign carriers, with priority for those who belong to the SKY TEAM alliance. The simulator centre then becomes, in addition to the above, a new business unit for the company.

Progressing with this project to construct the training centre, Aerolineas Argentinas agreed to sing with Flight Safety International (FSI) – main world providers of flight simulators- the manufacture of a second FFS for B-737 NG which will be delivered in January 2013 and launched in March of that year.

The training module will be completed with the addition of a fourth Simulator, in this case, for the instruction of Pilots operating wide bodied long-haul flights, the Airbus A-340.

FFS simulators are complemented by three static equipment VTP (Virtual Training Procedure) for three types of aircraft (E-190, B-737 NG and A-340) which are used for basic instruction prior to the training in the FFS.

When the latest Simulator is put into operation, Aerolineas Argengtinas, thanks to major investments and the support and trust by the Government, will regain a centre to train pilots that was symbolic for the country and the world as the “Simuladores Catalinas” were before they were scrapped and sold by the previous private administrators between 1992 and 1993, I.e 20 years ago.
