Miami’s Multi-Award Winning Resort Expands Kid-Friendly Offerings with New Educational Hands-on Activities, Sea Turtle Hatchling Event, the FUN Room and More

SUNNY ISLES BEACH,FL, 2019-May-23 — /Travel PR News/ — As a leader in family travel and continually striving to elevate the guest experience, the Five-Star, Five-Diamond Acqualina Resort & Spa, a seaside haven set on nearly five acres of sand between Miami and Fort Lauderdale in Sunny Isles Beach, introduces new amenities and innovative programming to its extensive menu of offerings for families. The new activities include exciting educational marine themes for the popular AcquaMarine program, a FUN Room for exploration and immersive experiences, a new dual beachfront basketball hoop and a Nighttime Hatchling Release event about the local sea turtles with a memorable hatchling release to the ocean.

Acqualina Resort’s marque AcquaMarine program, offered for children ages 5 to 12, has added three new marine themes as part of the existing curriculum, for a total of seven educational themes. In tandem with Miami Fitness Connection, the immersive AcquaMarine program is designed and inspired by Acqualina’s beautiful oceanfront setting and is the perfect opportunity for children to take in learning experiences while on vacation with their families.

The new educational marine themes under the program are Super Sea Storm, Ocean Mammals and Amazing Alligators; and will complement the popular existing themes about Feisty Fish, Squishy Stingers, Sea Turtles and Brilliant Dolphin Buddies.

Super Sea Storm: Kids learn all about hurricanes through creative activities like Play the Build a Kit, Create-A-Cane, Make a Hurricane craft, Human Whirlpool and Faster the Wind game.

Ocean Mammals: This theme incorporates hands-on games and crafts to teach children about the aquatic mammals, such as Paint a Sea Lion, 3D Whale, Dolphin Telephone, How to Draw a Dolphin, Predators Games and Orca Prey Relay Races.

Amazing Alligators: This program utilizes hands-on games and crafts to teach children about the American alligators, the largest reptile in North America. There will be a variety of games offered from alligator tag and a swamp game to quiz games and puzzles on an Ipad. Arts & crafts projects include Clothespin Alligator, Craft Stick Crocodile and Paper Plate Gator.
These programs will run every day for a full or half day option from 11am to 3pm and on Saturdays and Sundays for a full or half day option from 10am to 4pm.

Acqualina has designed a colorful and playful FUN Room Pop-Up from June 21 to August 16 for families to experience prior to check in or to explore anytime during their stay. As guests enter the innovative vibrant space located on the Mezzanine Level of the resort, they will be greeted by animated backdrops of balloons and bubbles, splashes of solid colors, interactive display stations and a variety of individual props where they can showcase their free spirit and creativity. The interactive, instagrammable experiences create a wonderful opportunity for families to have fun together and share photos and selfies with their friends and other family members. Some of the immersive experiences found in the FUN Roominclude: surfing a big wave, floating with a cluster of colorful balloons, posing with Acqualina’s signature ducklings and holding a giant ice cream cone.

A new dual basketball hoop offers an opportunity for children to shoot hoops along the beachfront and make new friends while at Acqualina. The dual basketball hoop complements the resort’s outdoor sports options including a soccer lawn, foosball and ping pong tables, and an oceanfront king-sized chess board. Newly designed locker-style beach club bathrooms are conveniently located adjacent to the resort’s stunning outdoor grounds and three oceanfront swimming pools, and also offer changing facilities for guests to use should they arrive early to the resort prior to check in.

For Florida’s sea turtle season, Acqualina has partnered with the Miami-Dade County Sea Turtle Conservation Program and will host two private nighttime hatchling releases on Wednesday, July 24 and Wednesday, August 7 at 7pm. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience to learn more about sea turtles and to observe baby sea turtles being released by the Sea Turtle Conservation staff on the beach at night. This event is open to Acqualina hotel guests ages 8 and older. In addition to these new offerings, the resort’s unique Acqua Experiences offer plenty of exciting options paired with a local expert who is knowledgeable and passionate in their respective fields and will make each activity and tour interesting and fun. Guests can learn how to scuba dive starting with a Discover Scuba experience at the resort’s beach club pool, take a private or group sports lesson, partake in a private kayak tour at the nearby Oleta River State Park and participate in a free-flowing, abstract painting lesson by the sea.
