Meet the makers of Alpenfire Cider and enjoy a complimentary cider tasting in ART Lounge
Seattle, U.S.A., 2012-08-31 — /travelprnews.com/ — In celebration of Washington Cider Week 2012, ART Lounge atFour Seasons Hotel Seattle will offer an exclusive cider tasting with Alpenfire Cider, Washington’s only organic hard cider. Among the six participating states, Washington will boast more than eighty-five cider events during the week long festivities, September 8 through 16, 2012, bringing cider to every tap and table.
On Tuesday, September 11, 2012, from 4:30 to 7:00 pm, ART hosts special guests and cider makers Bear and Nancy Bishop of Alpenfire Cider for an intimate tasting.
During the tasting, guests will discover the farm to table process, ask questions and sample local cider brewed and bottled just hours away in Port Townsend, Washington. Deeply rooted in the organic tradition, Alpenfire Cider is home to hundreds of organically grown cider trees in the English and French variety, with a harvest made fruitful by a collection of mason bees and Northwest wildlife. When asked why they prefer organic, the Bishops shared, “To us there is no option. Making cider with organically grown fruit assures us that we are not taking part in the tremendous overuse of synthetic fertilizers and herbicides happening around the world.”
Unique to ART Restaurant and Lounge, Alpenfire’s heirloom blend cider, Spark! is presented daily on tap for the craft cider connoisseur. Made from burgundy, melrose and king apples, Spark! is an unfiltered, semi-sweet blend best enjoyed chilled. In honour of Washington Cider Week, ART Lounge will feature select bottles for purchase during the event, along with light Happy Hour bites and More Cheese Please.
