WFS Expands Scandinavian Network with New 4,800 m² EFFH Facility at Copenhagen Airport
(IN SHORT) WFS, a subsidiary of SATS, has opened a new 4,800 m² E‑Commerce & Freight Forwarder Handling warehouse at Copenhagen Airport, raising its total cargo space there to 21,500 m². The expanded facility supports freight forwarders with services ranging from weight and dimension capture, security screening, and consolidation/deconsolidation to customs preparation, labeling, repacking, and transportation logistics. WFS’s e‑commerce solution also accelerates shipments into Scandinavia by reducing international transit times by one day. The move aligns with WFS’s broader strategy to grow its specialized handling network across Europe, complementing existing sites in six other countries.
(PRESS RELEASE) ROISSY, France, 2025-Jul-15 — /Travel PR News/ — Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), part of the SATS Group, has inaugurated its fourth dedicated warehouse at Copenhagen Airport to bolster its specialized E‑Commerce & Freight Forwarder Handling (EFFH) offerings across Scandinavia. Spanning 4,800 m², the new facility brings WFS’s total cargo footprint at the airport to more than 21,500 m², complementing its existing temperature‑controlled pharma center. This expansion enables WFS to deliver an even broader suite of value‑added services for freight forwarders managing import, export, and e‑commerce shipments via Copenhagen.
“In response to rising cargo volumes and a vibrant freight forwarding sector at Copenhagen Airport, we’ve expanded our local capabilities,” explained Inge Briand de Crevecoeur, Managing Director, Copenhagen, WFS. “Our global experience shows that forwarders increasingly prefer to outsource physical handling tasks to dependable partners like WFS.”
WFS’s EFFH portfolio encompasses preparing freight for carriage, capturing weight and dimensions, security screening, and end‑to‑end consolidation or deconsolidation. The service extends to sorting, customs‑preparation, road transport coordination, plus shipment labeling, repacking, crating, and bespoke inspection services.
For e‑commerce clients, WFS’s streamlined import sorting and scanning operations shave one full day off international delivery times to Scandinavian consumers—fast‑tracking customs clearance and final‑mile shipments.
“Our Copenhagen expansion dovetails with our strategy to scale our e‑commerce and freight forwarder handling solutions across key markets,” said Marc Claesen, SVP Northern Europe & Africa, WFS. “In a landscape where rapid processing and live tracking are vital, we’re enhancing our presence alongside other EFFH hubs in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, and Sweden—and we remain alert for further growth opportunities.”
