Following his retirement from the Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department, Ferreira served in the District of Columbia Office of Risk Management and as Safety Coordinator for the Anne Arundel County Division of Risk Management.

“Chief Ferreira is a respected leader that brings decades of fire and safety operational experience,” said Paul J. Under his leadership, the BWI Marshall Airport Fire and Rescue Department and our talented, dedicated personnel will remain one of the finest airport fire departments in the nation.”

During his long career with the Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department, Chief Ferreira was a highly-decorated leader, including two medals of valor. “I am very excited for this opportunity to serve with the BWI Marshall Airport Fire and Rescue Department, and to lead this outstanding fire service” said Chief Ferreira. “As a team, we will continue the commitment to protect the safety of BWI Marshall travelers and employees. It is one of my goals to ensure a diverse, inclusive workforce. I intend to reach out to a number of outside organizations to follow-up on initiatives that focus on boosting opportunities for minority firefighters.”
