Transport operator Stagecoach is in the running for host of top honours at the 2014 UK Bus Awards

PERTH, Scotland, 2014-10-9 — /Travel PR News/ — Transport operator Stagecoach is in the running for a host of top honours at the 2014 UK Bus Awards.

The Perth-based transport group has 10 finalists, including two companies shortlisted for the prestigious title of Britain’s best bus operator. Winners will be announced at a London awards ceremony to be held in November.

Stagecoach Manchester and Stagecoach North East have been named as finalists in the Top City Operator category which means both are also in the running for the UK Bus Operator of the Year Award.

Four Stagecoach employees are shortlisted for awards at the event. Shayne Howarth from Stagecoach Yorkshire and Chris Icely from Stagecoach Manchester are finalists in the Unsung Heroes category, while Stagecoach Merseyside employee Tony Cockroft is shortlisted for the Engineer of the Year Award and Stephen Reed from Stagecoach West Scotland is nominated in the Top National Bus Driver category.

Stagecoach East Midlands has been shortlisted for the Marketing Initiative of the Year Award for its Skegness Seasiders promotional project while Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire has been named as a finalist in the Putting Passengers First category for its ‘Getting Chester back on the bus’ initiative.

megabusGold.com – which operates overnight sleepercoach services with lie-flat beds – has been shortlisted for the Innovation Award.

In the London award categories, Stagecoach London’s Romford Garage is in the running for the Top London Bus Garage of the Year Award.
