Three out of four Iberia passengers in Madrid Airport issue their own boarding passes

Nearly all those who use the check-in kiosks also obtain their luggage tags from them

Madrid, 2012-08-14 — /travelprnews.com/ — Three of every four Iberia passengers embarking at the airline’s T4 hub in Madrid airport obtain their boarding passes automatically, using mobile phones, the www.iberia.com website, or airport check-in kiosks. On August 1 the Spanish airline loaded the T4 kiosks with new software enabling customers to obtain their boarding passes and luggage tags in less than 30 seconds.

In subsequent five days use of the kiosks rose by 10%.

Some 95% of passengers who obtained their boarding passes from the kiosks also got their luggage tags from the machines. Kiosk luggage tag issues increased by 5% in the first five days

The intuitive and user-friendly new program captures customer data automatically and is very simple to use.

To familiarise customers with the new streamlined and time-saving procedures, until August 9 the airline has made it possible for visitors to Iberia’s Facebook page to try it out by taking part in the “Olimpiadas IB” contest, for prizes of 30,000 Avios for the three best times. Nearly 700 people have entered the contest since it began on August 1.

Ágora, the plan that is changing T4

The new software was developed as part of Iberia’s Ágora project, aimed at making its T4 hub one of the world’s most efficient.

The three chief aims are to increase flight punctuality, to improve customers’ airport experience, and to raise efficiency. The kiosks ease and speed check-in procedures, while enabling the company to optimise its passenger service resources.
