THE REGIONAL MUSIC HERITAGE WEEKEND: 2019 PRESENTS “RAGTIME TO ROCKABILLY CELEBRATION”, MARCH 29-30, 2019 AT HISTORIC DOWNTOWN TEXARKANA

LITTLE ROCK, Ark, 2019-Mar-27 — /Travel PR News/ — Friday the 29th opens with Gala Preview Concerts at Silvermoon on Broad Theatre (217 W. Broad St.) at 7pm.  Hors d’oeuvres and wine & beer will be served!  The awarding of the Scottie trophy to the winner of the Ragtime Piano Artist!  Guest stars are Joyce Grant, great-great niece of Scott Joplin, who will sing jazz and ragtime songs backed by musicians of Three of a King trio.  Stephanie Rice of The Voice competition will sing from her new repertoire.  Rafael Espinoza and the Rockabilly Railroad will sign their new CD, recently recorded at Sun Studios in Nashville. And more!!

Saturday the 30th will launch, “Bringing Rock Home” at the Arkansas Municipal Auditorium (400 E. 3rd St – Scott Joplin Way) from 5pm with a 1950’s Costume Rally & Concert.  Antique car judging, DJ Fabien Thrash, pianists and great food vendors outdoors in AMA’s Walk of Fame Park until the 7pm concerts begin indoors.

Rafael Espinoza and the Rockabilly Railroad will open with Joyce “Scott Joplin” Grant joining to sing her great-great uncle’s “Maple Leaf Rag” in honor of George and son, pianist Rule Beasley who reintroduced the song to Texarkanians at the AMA in the’50s!  She will also sing Big Mama Thornton’s and Elvis’ hit song, “Hound Dog!”

Pat Cupp and Jimmie Allen will jointly receive the RMHC Lifetime Achievement Award…and they will perform the ’50’s hit record by Pat Cupp, “Long Gone Daddy!”

Stephanie Rice will perform “It’s Alright” with the band and receive the RMHC Young Musician Award.

Lots of history, homages and great music talents! Wear your best beloved 50s attire. There is a dance floor area in front of the AMA stage!! Limited tickets are available online: RMHC@TICKETLEAP.COM

There are only 120 seats at the Silvermoon Theatre and a maximum 100 seats at AMA.  The outdoor Rally is free and open to all the public!

Reserve your tickets early.  We will have tickets at the door…where possible!  Any overflow at Silvermoon will automatically see a 2nd show in the theatre!
