The Indianapolis International Airport opens the holiday season with its Holly Jolly Jetway holiday event

Today’s Holly Jolly Jetway event kicks off the holiday season

INDIANAPOLIS, IN, 2019-Dec-02 — /Travel PR News/ — The Indianapolis International Airport (IND) kicked off the holiday season today (Nov. 30, 2019) as Old Saint Nick made his first practice run of the year direct out of Indy. After dashing across the tarmac, the jolly old elf made his way into the terminal to greet more than 1,000 children and families in Civic Plaza as part of the airport’s Holly Jolly Jetway holiday event.

The afternoon was filled with good cheer, as attendees of the sold out event had their photos taken with Santa, decorated cookies and created ornaments, among other free, festive activities.

“It’s the season of peace and good will, a time when families and communities come together to celebrate our connection to each other, and to something bigger than ourselves,” said Indianapolis Airport Authority Executive Director Mario Rodriguez. “The Holly Jolly Jetway event is a great part of that tradition, and always a special one here at the Indy airport.”

Throughout the holiday season, passengers will be able to enjoy the decorations throughout the terminal or snap a photo next to the –NDY sign – with the holiday tree providing a festive backdrop – as travelers take off for their holiday travels. In addition to the Holly Jolly Jetway event, the following events will take place at the Indy airport during the holiday season.

Snowball Express

On Dec. 7, the fourteenth annual American Airlines Snowball Express will depart from the Indy airport, providing an all-expense-paid holiday trip to Orlando, Florida for children who have lost a parent while serving in the U.S. military since Sept. 11, 2001.
