ST. JOHN’S, NL, 2019-Dec-09 — /Travel PR News/ — The holiday season is one of the busiest and most exciting times of year at the St. John’s International Airport. Not only are people coming and going, but visitors will also encounter the sounds of the season and holiday décor as they come through the airport – including the popular mummer displays that celebrate a Newfoundland Christmas tradition.
‘Tis the season to give to those around you. The Airport Authority is once again collecting nonperishable items for the Community Food Sharing Association to help those in need during the holiday season. The drop-off box is located in the Atrium on the first floor of the Airport Terminal Building, and the Authority is kindly asking those visiting the Airport to consider donating an item.
A list of entertainment throughout the month includes the following:
YYT Movie Series – many family-friendly movies will be playing in the departures lounge throughout the holidays. The holiday movies include: The Search for Santa Paws; Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups; How the Grinch Stole Christmas; The Muppet Christmas Carol; Muppets Most Wanted; The Santa Clause; and Santa Clause 2.
#ComePlayWithMeNL Public Piano – The Business and Arts NL #ComePlayWithMeNL was donated by the JAG Hotel and painted by local artist, Cara Kansala. The piano sits in the Atrium area, located on Level One of the Airport Terminal Building and is waiting to be played to create unexpected musical moments.
Holiday Concert Series – Live musical performances by local school choirs and caroling groups are happening throughout December. The performances will take place in the Atrium area, located on Level One of the Airport Terminal Building.
A schedule of musical events is listed below and can also be found on the Airport Authority’s website: www.stjohnsairport.com/events.
