The count of passengers on scheduled domestic flights at Sofia Airport increased twice in November.12 517passengersflew to Varna and Burgas as compared to 5 985 for the same month last year.

Over 218 000 passengers flew on scheduled international routes. According to this indicator, the airlines that reported the most considerable increase as compared to 2011 were Bulgaria Air, Austrian Airlines, Turkish Airlines, NIKI, British Airways, Air France, LOT.

The total number of handled arriving and departing passengers was 234 168, which indicates that the 2011’s level was maintained within the same limits. ((+0,5%)

Cargo

Cargo and mail processed in November at the airport were 1 488 t. There is a 5,6%, increase in the total volume of cargo as compared to the same period last year, which is due to the 17 % increase of the integrated cargo carriers.

Aircraft movements

There was a growth in aircraft movements in domestic flights sector, as well as in charter and cargo flights.

The number of total aircraft movements decreased – 3 177 as compared to 3 501 for the same month last year. (-9%).

There was also a 14 % drop in the count of scheduled international flights as compared to 2011.
