Skis for free from London City

2012-11-03 — /travelprnews.com/ — Winter sports fans can take their skis for free with British Airways when jetting out to five top snow destinations from London City Airport.

And if skiing’s not your thing you can substitute skis for a snowboard or even an extra piece of luggage to carry your winter woollies.

Customers booking one-way tickets with British Airways to BarcelonaChamberyGenevaVenice and Zurich during November will be offered an extra piece of luggage for free when they fly between December and April.

This is in addition to the existing generous free 23kg luggage allowance and free hand baggage available on all British Airways flights. Customers at the docklands airport also benefit from a quick kerbside to airside journey of just 20 minutes, making the most of their leisure time, as well as free on-line check-in and seat selection 24 hours before departure and complimentary food and drink on board.

Luke Hayhoe, general manager commercial for British Airways at London City said: “Once again we are offering a wide choice of different winter sport destinations from London City Airport and we wanted to give our customers a little extra by allowing them to take their sports equipment completely free of charge”.

LCY offers a unique 20/10 proposition – a 20 minute check in, from door to gate, and a 10 minute arrival, from tarmac to train. 10 airlines fly out of LCY, serving 42 destinations, including DublinMadrid and Geneva . Seven new destinations were added in 2012, and the airport has permission to increase its operation to 120,000 movements per annum.
