Ryanair visited pupils at Crofton Academy, West Yorkshire

Leeds, United Kingdom, 2013-10-02 — /travelprnews.com/ — Ryanair, Europe’s only ultra-low cost airline, recently visited pupils at Crofton Academy, West Yorkshire.  Ryanair received a request from one of the teachers at the school to come in and make a presentation to 200 year 8 students as they commence their studies on a  new skills based curriculum which is looking at flight and the technology behind plane design and manufacture which includes the history of flying, design and the future of flying.

The students were delighted when Ryanair’s Captain Steve Barnham gave them an insight into what it is like to be a pilot and were much appreciative when they each received a gift of a Ryanair keyring to take home along with their new knowledge into the world of aviation.

Ryanair’s Captain Steve Barnham said “It was a pleasure to talk to the pupils of year 8 at Crofton Academy today about being a pilot working for Ryanair. They are a bright, inquisitive group of children and who knows, perhaps one day one of them will be flying all of us around.”

Crofton Academy’s Lee Hardcastle said “We were delighted when Ryanair pilot, Captain Steve Barnham, came to Crofton Academy today to tell our Year 8 pupils about the aviation industry and to give an insight into what it is like being a pilot. The presentation is part of a new skills based curriculum which is looking at flight and the technology behind plane design and manufacture. Hopefully this experience will encourage more of our pupils to consider a career in the aviation industry.”
