Qatar Airways Resumes Flights to Malta in July 2025, Expanding European Network

(IN SHORT) Qatar Airways will resume four weekly flights to Malta starting on 2 July 2025, expanding its European network to nearly 50 destinations. This marks the airline’s return to Malta, offering travelers from regions like Australia, China, and Japan easy access to the Mediterranean destination. With connections through Hamad International Airport, passengers can explore Malta’s historic sites, including Valletta and Mdina, as well as the nearby islands of Gozo and Comino. Qatar Airways also offers expanded global connectivity, including a partnership with Virgin Australia, pending approval.

(PRESS RELEASE) Doha, Qatar, 2024-Jan-20 — /Travel PR News/ — Qatar Airways, voted the World’s Best Airline by Skytrax in 2024, will resume flights to Malta starting 2 July 2025, with four weekly services. This reinstatement expands the airline’s network in Europe, now covering nearly 50 destinations.

Travelers from regions like Australia, China, India, Japan, and the Philippines can now book flights to Malta, making it easier than ever to experience the stunning Mediterranean coastline. Passengers can travel via Hamad International Airport, also named the World’s Best Airport by Skytrax in 2024, to Malta International Airport. Once there, visitors can explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Valletta, Malta’s capital, as well as the neighboring islands of Gozo and Comino.

Similarly, passengers flying from Malta will have access to Qatar Airways’ expansive global network, which spans over 170 destinations, including 42 weekly flights to Australia. Pending regulatory approval, the proposed partnership with Virgin Australia will further enhance connectivity, benefiting travelers both ways.

Valletta, Malta’s capital, offers a blend of Baroque architecture, contemporary nightlife, and over 450 years of history. Another highlight is Mdina, Malta’s former capital, known for its Rococo and medieval structures, as well as its role as the filming location for King’s Landing in the globally popular TV show Game of Thrones.

Qatar Airways will operate two daily flights between Doha and Malta, with departures every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.
