(PRESS RELEASE) Sydney, Australia, 2024-Sep-23— /Travel PR News/ — Qantas has announced the development of a new and expanded Broome Regional Lounge, aimed at improving the airport experience for travellers in Western Australia. Construction begins today, with the upgraded lounge set to open in December 2024. The new space will double the capacity of the existing lounge to accommodate growing demand from premium travellers and coincide with the airport’s terminal expansion.
Catriona Larritt, Qantas Chief Customer and Digital Officer, expressed excitement about the project: “We’re excited to bring an upgraded lounge experience to our customers in Broome, a key destination on our network. This investment highlights our commitment to Western Australia and to enhancing the travel experience for both business and leisure passengers.”
The lounge’s design will draw inspiration from the natural beauty of the surrounding Kimberley region, featuring vibrant colours such as deep reds from the James Price Point landscape, bright oranges representing Roebuck Bay’s sand and soil, and blue tones inspired by Willie Creek.
While construction is underway, the existing lounge will remain operational. The new lounge is part of Qantas’ broader $100 million investment in upgrading its global lounge network.
Qantas currently operates seasonal direct flights to Broome from Sydney and Melbourne (April to October) and offers year-round flights from Perth.
