Prague’s dnata Teams Up with Asiana Airlines and Trials Electric Catering Truck
(IN SHORT) dnata has secured a multi-year contract to provide exclusive inflight catering for Asiana Airlines at Prague’s Václav Havel Airport, preparing around 37,000 meals annually for its tri-weekly service to Incheon. Led locally by Managing Director Frantisek Sir, dnata already serves 18 airlines in Prague with over 210 staff, having uplifted 3.5 million meals on 17,000 flights in 2024–25. The company recently trialled an electric catering truck over 730 km and 230 flights, operating in temperatures as low as 1.6 °C, showcasing dnata’s commitment to sustainable ground support. Globally, dnata’s catering division employs 10,500 people, producing over 110 million meals annually across 60+ locations.

Under this contract, dnata’s dedicated teams will prepare and uplift approximately 37,000 meals each year, ensuring passengers on Asiana’s tri-weekly Prague–Incheon route enjoy a consistently exceptional onboard dining experience.

dnata is already the preferred inflight caterer for 18 airlines operating out of Prague, supported by over 210 hospitality professionals across the Czech Republic. During the 2024–25 financial year, dnata Catering Czech Republic uplifted more than 3.5 million meals across 17,000 flights, underscoring its operational excellence and capacity at scale.
In line with dnata’s global sustainability objectives, the Prague operation recently concluded a trial of an electric catering truck. Over the course of the pilot, the zero-emission vehicle covered 730 kilometres, serviced 230 flights, and operated reliably in temperatures down to 1.6 °C. This successful demonstration highlights the viability of electric ground support equipment in day-to-day airport operations.
