2012-11-15 — /travelprnews.com/ — The positive trend continues for passenger figures at Oslo Airport. In October, 2 022 346 passengers travelled through Oslo Airport, which is an increase of 3.1% compared with last year.
International passenger figures increased by 6%, while domestic traffic was approximately the same as in October in 2011.
“We are happy to see that we keep setting passenger records. This is the first time we have exceeded two million travellers in October,” says Media Advisor Joachim Westher Andersen.
Several factors account for the 3.1% passenger increase, he says.
“The autumn holiday was at the beginning of October, generating a lot of extra travel. We also see that autumn has become high season for city weekends, with New York being a very popular destination,” says Westher Andersen.
October saw 21 546 aircraft movements, up 5.0% from October 2011.
Oslo-London leads the field among the ten largest routes, growing 10.9%.
