(PRESS RELEASE) İSTANBUL, 2025-Apr-24 — /Travel PR News/ — The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) successfully hosted its Annual Summit 2025 (PAS 2025) from April 21–23 at the CVK Park Bosphorus Hotel, bringing together over 260 global delegates from 35 destinations under the theme “Timeless Wisdom for a Sustainable Future.” The event was generously hosted by the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) and supported by official airline partner Turkish Airlines.
The Summit drew government ministers, tourism leaders, academics, and youth from as far afield as Guam, Saudi Arabia, Korea, and the Pacific Islands, uniting a diverse coalition of minds to shape the future of travel in Asia Pacific and beyond.
Strategic Milestones and Vision for the Future
PAS 2025 was a landmark in PATA’s evolution. The Summit featured critical internal meetings culminating in:
Ratification of PATA’s new Vision and Mission, centering on meaningful tourism development
Approval of new Executive Board members and governance updates
Strategic alignment on the PATA 2030 Strategy, emphasizing inclusivity, agility, and tangible impact
PATA Chair Peter Semone opened the Summit with a powerful reminder: “Tourism cannot survive without peace, nature, and community… it must evolve into a vehicle for empathy, humility, and regeneration.”

More than 40 speakers from organisations including UN Tourism, Airbnb, Skyscanner, Amadeus, Mastercard, BBC, and GSTC explored pressing issues such as climate action, global aviation shifts, AI integration, and workforce trends.

In true Turkish spirit, the Summit immersed attendees in cultural workshops on simit baking, Turkish coffee, and Ebru marbling. Delegates also enjoyed post-event tours of Türkiye’s heritage gems, from the Hagia Sophia to Cappadocia.
During the closing ceremony, new partnerships and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were acknowledged, deepening regional cooperation and shared goals for a resilient tourism sector.
Impact and Responsibility
As part of the PATA Kind Hearts Initiative, delegates donated children’s books to the Rami Library in İstanbul, furthering PATA’s commitment to education and community upliftment in host destinations.
PAS 2025 was also carbon neutral, with its environmental impact fully offset through contributions to the Kınık Wind Power Plant in Türkiye’s İzmir Province, aligning the Summit with PATA’s core sustainability values.
