Newly appointed Executive Chef Maria Tampakis debuts new picnic experience featuring a snackable selection of local products, just in time for leaf-peeping season
New York, U.S.A., 2021-Sep-03 — /Travel PR News/ — Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown, the award-winning hotel located in the heart of TriBeCa, has launched a new Picnic in the Park experience just in time for fall, with an authentic New York Picnic Basket curated by Executive Chef Maria Tampakis.
A picnic amid the fall foliage in the park is part of the quintessential New York City experience. With more than 1,700 parks to choose from, they present a reprieve from the fast-paced and industrial nature of the buzzing metropolis. With plenty of popular programming arranged by the city, such as movies on the lawn, public art installations, concerts and more, parks in Manhattan draw locals and visitors alike out to the beautiful outdoor spaces. Perfect for taking it all in, the Picnic in the Park experience at Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown provides an elevated interpretation of the quintessential picnic, offering a selection of delicious classics in an easy-to-transport basket.
“There’s nothing quite like fall in Manhattan and a picnic in the park is the ideal way to soak in the season. We are obsessed with providing our guests with the most authentic New York lifestyle experiences,” says Thomas Carreras, General Manager.
The Picnic in the Park experience will be available in platter and classic options with servings for two and feature:
All picnics can be made vegetarian upon request.
“It has been so exciting to curate our Picnic Baskets, one of my first projects at Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown. There is something so special about bringing an idea to life at this scale and calibre,” says Executive Chef Maria Tampakis. “As a New York native myself, I wanted to bring the culture of picnics and exploration to guests at an elevated culinary level, so that they can experience the city like a local at a Four Seasons luxury standard.”
The Picnic in the Park experience is a perfect pairing with the recently-launched Bike the City experience at the Hotel, where guests are offered the opportunity to take a complimentary Biria Bike out around the city following a custom-illustrated map designed by local artist Tanu Vasu, also known as @NYCCurated. Visitors are welcome to spend the day exploring the unique landscape of Downtown Manhattan and end the excursion with a Chef-curated picnic in one of downtown Manhattan’s many parks.
The Picnic in the Park experience is USD 175 for two people and is available to guests of the Hotel. Picnics can be booked by emailing concierge.nydowntown@fourseasons.com and require 24 hour advance notice.
