New MoU Seals Collaboration Between Munich AirportAcademy and Colorado Denver Business School for EMBAA Program

(IN SHORT) Munich AirportAcademy and CU Denver Business School have signed an MoU to co-develop and deliver specialized training modules for CU Denver’s new Executive MBA in Aviation (EMBAA). Beginning in 2026, Munich Airport’s training division will integrate its operational insights into the EMBAA curriculum. This is the Academy’s first collaboration with an international university and builds on the longstanding Sister Airports relationship between Munich and Denver since 1991. CU Denver’s EMBAA—unique in the US—targets experienced aviation professionals, combining business leadership and industry expertise. Both institutions plan joint promotion of the program to emphasize the synergy of practical and academic learning.

(PRESS RELEASE) MUNICH, Germany, 2025-Jul-11 — /Travel PR News/ — Munich AirportAcademy and the University of Colorado Denver Business School have formalized a strategic alliance through a Memorandum of Understanding to deliver specialized training for aviation executives. This marks the AirportAcademy’s inaugural partnership with an overseas university and underscores both institutions’ dedication to nurturing tomorrow’s leaders in the aviation sector.

Under the agreement, Munich Airport’s education arm will craft and deliver tailored instructional modules for CU Denver’s newly established Executive MBA in Aviation (EMBAA) program. The collaboration kicks off in 2026, blending the Academy’s hands-on operational expertise with the Business School’s rigorous academic curriculum.

“By integrating real-world airport operations into an executive education framework, we’re equipping industry decision-makers with unparalleled insights,” said Alexander Hömer, Senior Vice President of AirportAcademy. “This partnership also deepens the bond between Munich and Denver airports—Sister Airports since 1991—fostering regular exchanges of best practices and innovations.”

David Chandler, Associate Dean of Executive Programs at CU Denver, added, “As universities reassess their societal impact, forward-thinking business schools must join forces with leading economic engines. Denver Airport is the Rocky Mountain region’s largest economic catalyst, and we’re proud to collaborate on shaping the future of aviation leadership.”

CU Denver’s EMBAA—unrivaled in the US—caters to seasoned professionals in aviation and allied fields, uniting business strategy, management acumen, and sector-specific expertise. Both partners will actively promote the program, highlighting the value of marrying academic theory with practical airport operations.
