In addition, Jean-Marc Pougnet has been promoted to General Manager of Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort. These leadership changes are part of Minor Hotels’ ongoing efforts to strengthen its operations in northern Thailand.
Arnaud Béril Appointed Cluster General Manager for Anantara Chiang Mai Resort and Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort
Arnaud Béril, who returns to Anantara Chiang Mai where he previously worked as Food & Beverage Manager in 2015, will now oversee both resorts in northern Thailand. He joined Minor Hotels as an intern in 2010 and has since advanced through various senior operational roles at the group’s properties across Thailand, including in Koh Phangan, Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Hua Hin, Koh Samui, and Chiang Rai. In 2022, Arnaud became Resort Manager at Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort and was promoted to General Manager within a year.
Arnaud’s leadership at Anantara Golden Triangle has seen significant improvements to the guest experience, such as the introduction of Canopy, A Tree Top Dining Experience, the launch of Samsarn restaurant celebrating Thai, Lao, and Burmese culinary traditions, and the unveiling of the Mekong Explorer Tents. His contributions earned him the title of General Manager of the Year – Asia at the Minor Awards of Excellence in 2024.
A French national, Arnaud holds a bachelor’s degree from the Institut Vatel Bordeaux Hospitality Management School.
Jean-Marc Pougnet Promoted to General Manager, Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort
Jean-Marc Pougnet’s promotion to General Manager at Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort brings him back to his first Minor Hotels property. After moving to Chiang Rai in 2013, Jean-Marc joined Anantara Golden Triangle in 2018 as Food & Beverage Manager and later served as Director of Food & Beverage. He then moved to Avani+ Khao Lak Resort in 2021, where he established the F&B department and, over the last two years, has managed the 327-key property as Resort Manager.
With over a decade of experience in senior food and beverage and operational roles across Europe, Africa, and Asia, Jean-Marc brings expertise in operational excellence and innovative guest experiences.
A Mauritian national, Jean-Marc holds degrees in International Hotel and Tourism Management from Ulster University in Northern Ireland and HTMi Hotel and Tourism Management Institute in Switzerland.
