Metrolink’s 16th Annual Holiday Toy Express kicks off 2012 holiday season, Friday, Nov. 16

Festive train making 42 stops across region in November and December

LOS ANGELES – 2012-11-12 — /travelprnews.com/ — Metrolink rings in the holidays with the Holiday Toy Express, Santa’s glittering train, debuting on Friday, Nov. 16 at Los Angeles Union Station, hosted by Metro. The official kickoff is on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 5 p.m. in San Bernardino.

Between Nov. 16 and Dec. 22, the 450-ton train will spread cheer across Southern California, making 42 stops over six weekends in six counties.

The festive train will be decorated with more than 50,000 lights and staged for a brand new musical show featuring Santa, Mrs. Claus and other holiday characters. Select cities hosting the train will have holiday festivities welcoming the arrival of the holiday train.

The Holiday Toy Express events are open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring their friends and family, as well as unwrapped toys to donate to the ABC7 and Southern California Firefighters’ Spark of Love Toy Drive.
