Hong Kong, 2017-May-31 — /Travel PR News/ — Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai is pleased to announce the appointment of Clemens Hoerth as the hotel’s new General Manager. Mr Hoerth joins Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai – a proud recipient of the prestigious Forbes Five-Star hotel award –from Mandarin Oriental Guangzhou, where he has been General Manager since the hotel’s opening in 2013 and helped to establish it as one of the city’s premier luxury hotels.
An experienced senior hospitality professional in Europe, the Middle East, China and South East Asia, Mr Hoerth is a German national who grew up in the beautiful Black Forest region. Fluent in German, English and French, he started his hospitality career in 1981 as an apprentice at the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski in Munich.
Mr Hoerth began his career with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in 1997, and has since held several key management positions. He was Resident Manager at Mandarin Oriental, Manila before taking up the role of Resident Manager at Mandarin Oriental, Singapore. His first General Manager position was at Mandarin Oriental, Surabaya. He later moved to the Czech Republic to become the opening General Manager at Mandarin Oriental, Prague, a role he held for six years.
