Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta hosts contemporary art exhibition featuring Atlanta artist Claire Chambless

Hong Kong, 2018-Jun-08 — /Travel PR News/ — Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta and Bill Lowe Gallery are pleased to present “EXcess”, a contemporary art exhibition featuring Atlanta artist Claire Chambless. The exhibition will span from the hotel entrance through the Lobby and culminate in the Taipan Lounge with an immersive site-specific installation. The artworks prominently incorporate a symbolic fan motif which echoes Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group’s iconic brand symbol, the eleven blade fan.

“When Bill Lowe Gallery first introduced us to Claire’s work, we were immediately struck by the fan imagery”, said David Collas, General Manager.

Claire Chambless is a multi-disciplinary artist who utilizes unconventional materials to explore concepts of female identity, excess and overstimulation in the digital age. This will be the first collaboration of its kind in the city, in which a hotel is sponsoring an Atlanta artist to create a temporary exhibition and site-specific installation.

“This exhibition emphasizes our focus on sense of place by featuring the work of a talented local artist”, said Sophie Dier, Director of Marketing & Communications. “We are so pleased to be able to support Claire in her artistic endeavors as she prepares for the next stage in the journey of her art career, studying for her Masters in Fine Art at the California Institute of the Arts.”

The installation will be on display in the hotel beginning on June 7, 2018. For more information, please call +1 (404) 995 7500 or email moatl-concierge@mohg.com.
