Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) reports 264,865 passengers in February, up 3% compared to February 2013

Liverpool, UK, 2014-3-5 — /Travel PR News/ — Latest passenger traffic figures for Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) show a continued increase in usage with a throughput of 264,865 passengers in February – up 3% compared to February 2013.

This is the third consecutive month that year on year passenger numbers have risen for LJLA with an additional 42,000 passengers choosing to use the Airport so far this year compared to last year.

Ryanair, easyJet and in particular Flybe on their popular Isle of Man service, all carried more passengers for the month once again.

The storms that battered many parts of the UK appear to have had less of an impact on flights operating from Liverpool, with some additional traffic diverted to the Airport from elsewhere across the UK during February. In addition, the first school holidays of the year saw many families taking the opportunity to get away to a mixture of Winter sun and ski destinations across Europe from the Airport.

The news comes ahead of the beginning of the Summer season for the Airport with additional services starting shortly, in week commencing 31st March. easyJet will start their Summer service to Bodrum and Ryanair their service to Palma. Additional Summer season services then commence from late April and beyond with easyJet operating flights to Bordeaux, Ibiza, Mahon, Newquay, Nantes and Rhodes and Ryanair beginning additional Summer services to Ibiza, Kos and Rhodes from Liverpool.
