Kempinski Seychelles Resort Baie Lazare participates at the inaugural Seychelles Tourism Festival Food Fiesta

Baie Lazare, Seychelles, 2018-Sep-19 — /Travel PR News/ — Last Sunday, 16 September, an enthusiastic team of chefs, engineers, waitresses and front office team members represented Kempinski Seychelles Resort Baie Lazare at the inaugural Seychelles Tourism Festival Food Fiesta. This mélange of culinary flair was hosted for the first time by Seychelles Tourism and showcased the best street food from the top establishments on the island.

The Fiesta was the highlight of the week-long Seychelles Tourism Festival and was opened with a spirited waiters’ race along the length of the illustrious Beau Vallon promenade. The participants’ professional training was put to the test as they were challenged to carry a beverage-laden tray as quickly as they could from one end of the promenade to the other.

The Seychelles Tourism Festival is a celebration of Seychelles’ flourishing tourism industry and was created to coincide with World Tourism Day, which is celebrated globally on 27 September. This event was enthusiastically attended by tourists, residents, the local press and Tourism Officials, who all agreed that it had been a resounding success.

“We’re delighted to have been a part of such a dynamic celebration of Seychelles’ best food and luxury brands,” said Kempinski Seychelles Resort Baie Lazare’s general manager, Masami Egami. “Seychelles Tourism is constantly pushing the envelope to promote our remarkable destination and we are excited to be a part of another of their innovative projects.”

Executive chef Hamzeh Abu El-Foul commented that he was pleased to have the opportunity to share his team’s cuisine with a new and varied audience and was delighted with the turnout at Kempinski Seychelles Resort Baie Lazare’s stall. “I think our team enjoyed themselves even more than the guests – there was a wonderful atmosphere in Beau Vallon today. We’re already looking forward to next year’s event!”

The Seychelles Tourism Festival will continue until 22 September with festivities designed to engage the public and raise awareness about the importance of the tourism industry to the local economy.
