Passenger boardings at KCI were down 8.7 percent, with a total of 458,084 during July. For the year to date, boardings at KCI totaled 2,928,596, an increase of 0.4 percent from the same period last year.

“The decreases in July passenger statistics relate to a significant decrease in monthly departures and available seats,” said Tom McKenna, director of marketing for the Aviation Department. “This trend should continue through the summer as July and August show significant reductions in capacity by airlines at KCI.”

For the year to date, air cargo at KCI is up 1.7 percent from the same period last year.
