Kansas City International Airport: American Airlines to begin new nonstop flights between KCI and Miami

Kansas, MO, 2015-3-6 — /Travel PR News/ — American Airlines announced in October that the carrier will begin new nonstop flights between Kansas City International Airport (MCI) and Miami International Airport (MIA) starting March 5. Flights for the previously unserved route will be operated daily using Airbus A319 equipment. The first flight out will be 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 5.

Officials said the new flights are perfectly timed for local passengers and will offer convenient connections to destinations beyond Miami, American’s gateway to Latin America.

Daily Service Schedule (all times local):

Departs MCI at 6 a.m. CT
Arrives at MIA at 10:09 a.m. ET

Departs MIA at 7:55 p.m. ET
Arrives at MCI at 10:05 p.m. CT

The addition of Miami brings the total number of nonstop routes served from Kansas City International Airport to 45, which includes 5 destinations in Florida. American Airlines and US Airways together currently operate 30 daily departures from Kansas City with nonstop service to six destinations; Charlotte, Chicago-O’Hare, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Philadelphia, Phoenix and Washington-Reagan. American Airlines and US Airways merged in 2013, yet continue to operate both brands.

The Kansas City Airport System is an Enterprise Fund Department of the City of Kansas City, Mo., and is supported wholly by airport user charges. No general tax fund revenues are used for the administration, promotion, operation, or maintenance of the airports in the system. Visit flykci.com for more information.
