Moscow – 2012-10-11 — /travelprnews.com/ — JSC “Aeroflot” and JSC “Sheremetyevo International Airport” (JSC “SIA”) signed an agreement on strategic partnership.
The agreement has been concluded on mutually beneficial and long-term basis in order to optimize Aeroflot operations in the base airport Sheremetyevo.
Under the agreement both parties came to an accord over the key subjects. As such Aeroflot, its subsidiaries and SkyTeam alliance partners will receive the whole South terminal complex of Sheremetyevo airport (Terminals D, E, F) for their flights. Also an agreement over reorientation of Terminal F for domestic flights servicing has been reached.
This agreement will allow to improve service quality, will facilitate synchronization of airline and airport divisions and fortification of partnership between JSC “Aeroflot” and JSC “SIA”.
Aeroflot is Russia’s leading air carrier, member of the global SkyTeam alliance. Its consolidated route network covers 983 destinations in 178 countries. In 2011 Aeroflotcarried over 14 million passengers.

In 2011, Sheremetyevo’s total passenger traffic was 22,555,000 people, which is 16.7% more than in 2010.
In 2010 airport Sheremetyevo became a leader in the increasing of passenger traffic among the European airports, the airport handled 19,329,000 passengers, which is 31% more than in 2009.
According to the results of the quality research program in the world airports ASQ ACI (Airport Service Quality) airport Sheremetyevo was reckoned among 10 top best European airports in 2011.
Based on the annual rating of Skytrax Research company (Great Britain), Sheremetyevo International Airport is one of the three best airports in Eastern Europe in terms of quality of service.
