Japan Airlines Innovation Fund invests in mobility companies to create and bring nextgen transportation technology to the airline industry
Tokyo, Japan, 2020-Feb-24 — /Travel PR News/ — Japan Airlines Innovation Fund today (February 21, 2020) announced the decision to invest in three mobility companies that are aiming to create and bring next-generation transportation technology to the market.
Established in January 2019, Japan Airlines Innovation Fund is a firm that specializes in providing CVC funding to startup companies in an aim to create new values in the airline industry. During the Company`s current medium term management plan, developing and providing a comprehensive air mobility platform is a goal that the carrier has been aiming for and has recently provided platforms to companies that are looking to demonstrate logistical drone services and to those planning to develop eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) technology.1
In addition, the carrier will dedicate a team of experts from the company`s Innovation Division, Business Creation Strategy Department, Mobility Group to help assist in accelerating and strengthening the partnership with the following startup companies.
JAL will further promote investment, collaboration, and co-creation in various startup companies both in Japan and overseas, as well as next-generation mobility companies. The carrier will aim to achieve the following SDGs by building a foundation to help innovate key technology to solve regional community issues, including disaster response services and medical care.
