44-year old Stefan Willensdorfer has taken charge of the pre-opening phase for the new IntercityHotel Graz with effect from 1 July 2020.
Frankfurt am Main, Germany, 2020-Jul-07 — /Travel PR News/ — He will be responsible for the development of all areas of the 229-room hotel in the lead-up to its official scheduled opening in the autumn of 2020 and subsequently for the management of the hotel. As General Manager, Mr. Willensdorfer will help to reinforce the success enjoyed by this Deutsche Hospitality brand in Austria.
After beginning his career as Manager On Duty at the Sofitel & Novotel Vienna Airport, Stefan Willensdorfer went on to gain further experience in a number of sales roles. His most recent position was Head of Sales for roomz Austria at the Roomz Graz. He completed a Bachelor degree at the Bad Leonfelden College for Tourism & Hospitality Management and later studied for a Masters in Business Administration at London Metropolitan University. “We were highly impressed by Stefan Willensdorfer’s motivation and by his passion for the hospitality industry,” said Joachim Marusczyk, founding Managing Director of IntercityHotel GmbH. “His branch expertise also provides a perfect framework for the growth of IntercityHotel in Austria and for a successful launch of our new hotel in Graz. IntercityHotel is a Deutsche Hospitality brand which encompasses over 40 hotels. The new IntercityHotel Graz will be located at Finkengasse 2. It will extend over six storeys and will offer all the comfort guests would expect to find in the upper mid-scale segment as well as conference rooms, a bar and a restaurant. Scheduled for completion in autumn 2020, the hotel has been designed as a mixed-use concept in conjunction with the SMARTments brand. Plans also involve the creation of 187 student apartments within the immediate vicinity of the city’s main railway station. The project developer is the GBI Company Group. Like all new generation IntercityHotels, the IntercityHotel Graz features a signature design concept by the Italian architect Matteo Thun.
