Rebranded from the Bay Capital Danang Hotel, the property expands IHG’s Crowne Plaza presence in Vietnam. The hotel will feature meeting spaces, a restaurant, a spa, and fitness facilities. (PRESS RELEASE) Danang, Vietnam, 2024-Nov-27 — /Travel PR News/ — IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) has announced the signing of the Crowne Plaza Danang City Centre, under a management agreement with Regis Bay Vietnam Investment Joint-Stock Company. Set to open later this year, the 283-key hotel will cater to the rising demand for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) in Danang, Vietnam. The property will offer a variety of rooms and suites, many with stunning views of the Danang landscape and the Han River.

Strategic Expansion in Vietnam

Rebranded from the former Bay Capital Danang Hotel, this new addition expands IHG’s Crowne Plaza portfolio in Vietnam, joining existing properties like Crowne Plaza Phu Quoc Starbay and Crowne Plaza Vinh Yen City Centre. The hotel will embody Crowne Plaza’s signature approach to blended travel, balancing work and leisure needs with spaces designed for flexibility.

Chris Anklin, Senior Director of Development for Southeast Asia & Korea at IHG, expressed his enthusiasm about the new property, stating, “We are excited to continue our expansion in Vietnam with Crowne Plaza Danang City Centre. This project is our first collaboration with Regis Bay Vietnam and strengthens our presence in Central Vietnam, where we have already made significant strides.” He also highlighted the company’s ambitious plans to grow its footprint in the region, aiming to expand its portfolio from 16 to over 40 hotels in the coming years.

Danang, a key commercial and transport hub in Central Vietnam, is positioning itself as a leader in business travel in the Asia-Pacific region, a market projected to reach USD$800 billion by 2027. Crowne Plaza Danang City Centre, located in the Hai Chau district and just 15 minutes from Da Nang International Airport, is set to become a top choice for both business and leisure travelers.

Guests will also enjoy easy access to iconic landmarks such as Han Bridge, Dragon Bridge, and the Da Nang Cathedral, with UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Hoi An, Hue, and My Son just a short drive away.

As part of a broader expansion in Asia Pacific, Crowne Plaza Danang City Centre will be one of more than 90 Crowne Plaza hotels across the region, including new properties in South East Asia and Australasia.
