
IHG Launches Garner Hotels in India with New Properties in Etawah and Kathua
(IN SHORT) IHG® Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of two new Garner hotels in India—Garner Etawah in Uttar Pradesh and Garner Kathua in Jammu & Kashmir—marking the brand’s first foray into the Indian market. Set to open in 2026 and 2027 respectively, these midscale properties are being developed in partnership with Madan Infradevelopers Pvt Ltd and Rudraksh Nakshatra Hotel Pvt Ltd, and will be managed by Rosastays. The Garner brand aims to offer high-quality, affordable accommodations that focus on essential comforts for value-conscious travelers. Garner Etawah will offer 40 rooms, a spacious ballroom, an all-day dining restaurant, and meeting spaces to attract families and business travelers, while Garner Kathua, with 45 rooms, a swimming pool, and versatile event spaces, is strategically located in an industrial and pilgrimage-friendly area. Key figures from IHG, Rosastays, and partner developers expressed their confidence in the brand’s growth potential in India as part of IHG’s broader expansion strategy, which currently includes 47 operating hotels and a pipeline of 60 more across the country.

The new properties—Garner Etawah in Uttar Pradesh and Garner Kathua in Jammu & Kashmir—are slated to open in 2026 and 2027 respectively. These developments are undertaken in collaboration with Madan Infradevelopers Pvt Ltd for the Etawah project and Rudraksh Nakshatra Hotel Pvt Ltd for the Kathua venture, and will be managed by Rosastays (Rosaoul Hotelco Pvt Ltd), a trusted third-party management partner for Garner Hotels in India.
Garner, IHG’s latest midscale conversion brand, is designed to offer a relaxed, flexible, and value-driven experience for travelers who seek quality and comfort without the frills of luxury. Each property will focus on providing the essentials that modern guests truly appreciate. Garner Etawah, located in a region celebrated for its rich historical and cultural heritage as well as its status as a major transit hub, will feature 40 guest rooms and a spacious ballroom. This property is tailored to accommodate small weddings, social events, and business meetings, complemented by an all-day dining restaurant and well-appointed meeting spaces.
In contrast, Garner Kathua, situated near the scenic landscapes and pilgrimage sites of Jammu & Kashmir and emerging as an industrial and pharmaceutical hub, will offer 45 keys along with a swimming pool, a multi-cuisine restaurant, and versatile event spaces. This hotel is set to become a go-to destination for both leisure and business travelers.
