Among the most notable achievements, HKIA was named “Best Airport in the World” at the Global Travel Awards 2026, standing out among top-tier airports across Asia, the Middle East and other global regions. The recognition is based on votes from millions of travelers, highlighting excellence in both operational performance and passenger satisfaction.

HKIA is named “Best Airport in China” for the third consecutive year in the 2026 TTG China Travel Awards.
The airport also secured the title of “Best Airport in China” at the TTG China Travel Awards for the third consecutive year, reflecting consistent performance and strong reputation within the regional travel industry.
Further recognition came from Skytrax, which awarded HKIA “World’s Best Airport Security Processing” and “World’s Best Airport Washrooms” at the 2026 World Airport Awards. These honors underline the airport’s ongoing efforts to enhance safety, efficiency and comfort for passengers.
HKIA’s achievements are supported by its continued investment in advanced technologies and infrastructure upgrades. The airport has implemented facial recognition across security checkpoints, immigration and boarding gates, enabling a seamless passenger journey. It is also upgrading screening systems by replacing traditional X-ray machines with CT-based technology to improve both security and processing efficiency.
