Hilton Worldwide expands in Poland with Signing of Hampton by Hilton Warsaw

New signing will take the number of Hilton Worldwide properties in Poland to 15

WARSAW, Poland – 2012-11-09 — /travelprnews.com/ — Hilton Worldwide today announced the signing of a management agreement with S+B Gruppe AG to open a new landmark Hampton by Hilton hotel in Warsaw city centre, which will be the largest of its kind in Europe. With Warsaw’s growing popularity as a hub for business and leisure travellers, the Hampton by Hilton brand meets the city’s increasing demand for good quality, affordable accommodation. The hotel will be a new build scheduled to open early 2014.

In just four years since the opening of the first Hilton Worldwide property in Poland, the company has managed to grow its portfolio to include 15 hotels, under four of its internationally renowned brands, which are either currently open or in the pipeline, in locations across the country. Today’s signing also means a further expansion of the company’s award winning Hampton by Hilton brand, the first of which opened earlier this year in Swinoujscie, taking the number of Hampton by Hilton properties in operation or due to open in Poland, to six.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president of development Hilton Worldwide Europe and Africa, said, “Poland is a key development market for Hilton Worldwide and today’s signing of our largest Hampton by Hilton in Europe demonstrates the momentum that exists behind our world leading brands. Our presence in the country continues to grow and this is another major strategic step in our expansion into Eastern Europe. We are looking forward to this new relationship with with S+B Gruppe AG who are highly influential and well respected in the industry and within the region.”

Austrian based S+B Gruppe AG – a private project developer of real estate in Vienna, Prague, Bucharest and Warsaw -successfully acquired the project in Wspolna 72 last year. Upon its completion the property will feature 300 rooms over 17 floors, making it one of the largest Hampton by Hilton hotels in Europe and one of the second largest in the world. The striking building has a gross floor area of 12,500 square meters and construction work is scheduled to begin this month.

“We are delighted to have secured a Hampton by Hilton development at such a prime location in Warsaw. This is yet another project in our growing portfolio that demonstrates our expertise in the development of modern buildings in urban areas that are up-and-coming.  In Hilton Worldwide we have a strong partner and we look forward to starting work on this flagship project which will be a great addition to Warsaw”, said Franz Paul Bauer, member of the board and shareholder of S+B Gruppe AG.

Hampton by Hilton Warsaw will also offer complimentary breakfast and free internet access throughout the hotel. Guests will be offered comfortable and modern rooms, as well as a fitness centre, business area and an elegant bar. The hotel will also feature two meeting and event rooms, as well as underground parking.

Being on one of the city’s main routes, the hotel has a prime location in Warsaw’s city center with the main business and shopping district less than 500 metres away, and transport links easily accessible, with the airport within 10 kilometers and the tram, bus station, and underground just 600 metres away.

Warsaw is the financial centre of Eastern Europe and an important consumer market. It has become the focal point of foreign investments and a driving force in the development of the country’s economy.

Hampton by Hilton Warsaw will be a great addition to the city and will provide guests with a high quality economy hotel experience”, said Phil Cordell, global head, focused service and Hampton brand. “The signing of the hotel marks the continued success of our economy brand in Poland, where we now feature six hotels either operating or under development.”

Currently Hilton Worldwide has a presence in Warsaw with the Hilton Warsaw Hotel & Convention Center. In addition the DoubleTree by Hilton Warsaw Conference Center & Spa is under construction and is planned to open in 2014, and a franchise agreement for the Hampton by Hilton Warsaw Airport was signed in May 2011 with a planned opening in 2013.

Across Poland the company currently has five hotels in operation with another 10 in the pipeline – it is estimated that this will help create approximately 500 jobs in the next few years.
