(NEWS) CÁCERES, Spain, 2025-Sep-9 — /Travel PR News/ — Hilton has expanded its Curio Collection with the debut of Palacio de Godoy Cáceres, Curio Collection by Hilton, a 16th-century palace transformed into a luxury hotel in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Cáceres, Spain.
Originally built in 1563 as the residence of Spanish conquistador Francisco Godoy, the landmark has undergone a €14 million restoration led by SCIPION Real Estate and now offers 73 guest rooms, grand function halls, Bar Virú, a rooftop terrace, a spa, and the signature restaurant Mamay Aldana under the direction of Chef Antonio Manuel Céspedes Rodríguez.

Inspired by the region’s role in the conquest of the Americas, the hotel blends history and modern hospitality, with interiors designed by BSV Arquitectos and gardens by Álvaro de la Rosa. The project has created 60 new jobs and is managed by Panoram Hotel Management, marking its first property in Extremadura. Developers and managers highlighted the opening as a milestone for the city, positioning Cáceres as a prime destination for upscale cultural tourism. The property also joins Hilton Honors, enabling members to enjoy benefits and rewards while experiencing one of Spain’s most carefully preserved historic centers.
The opening follows Hilton’s announcement in February 2023 of the signing of Palacio de Godoy Cáceres, Curio Collection by Hilton, under a franchise agreement with Scipion Real Estate and Panoram Hotel Management. At that time, Hilton’s Patrick Fitzgibbon emphasized the brand’s rapid expansion across Europe and the Iberian Peninsula, while developer Fernando Palazuelo highlighted the palace’s unique history and its restoration centered on the legacy of conquistador Francisco Godoy. That vision has now come to life, as the 16th-century landmark has been transformed into a one-of-a-kind hotel that blends heritage, design, and modern hospitality in the heart of Cáceres’ UNESCO-listed old town.
