Mumbai, India, 2022-Apr-06 — /Travel PR News/ — ‘Green Destinations’ has developed the ‘Good Travel Program’ as a turn-key system with assessment and certification tools suitable for every location, company, tourism product or destination. It is aimed as an effective program supporting public and private parties in leisure and tourism in the recognition and promotion of sustainability-related efforts by focusing on transparency, storytelling and certification. There will be three levels of certification including ‘Good Travel Scan’, ‘Good Travel Seal’ and ‘Good Travel Seal Plus’ fully compliant with the GSTC Industry standard. The businesses will be awarded a complementary ‘Virus Aware Seal’ for their commitment towards hygiene and sanitation in the new norm. Certified businesses will be listed and promoted in major sites and platforms like Good Travel Guide, Sustainability First, Booking.com, Google Travel and Green Travel Map of Tourism 2030.
The program will develop “Good travel destinations”, a cluster of parties including a destination manager or champion, a group of service providers and the services and experiences offered by them. It will also offer a white label option which facilitates creating local destination brands for these clusters. An annual ‘Good Travel Stories Competition’ for recognising and rewarding best practices by tourism businesses will also be launched this year.
‘Green Destinations’ based in The Netherlands is the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) accredited certification body awarding the highest-level certification for tourism destinations across the world. The program will be implemented through a network of Regional Coordinators, technical assistants and country representatives.
